I think I could do a Ramsey blog post every day. There’s always excitement, ups and downs, and stories to tell because of this gal. She got to have powdered donuts for breakfast the other morning, for the first time, and she was squealing with delight. She ate two and asked for the rest of my apple. Go figure.
No napping seems to be going okay. She’s out like a light around 8 at night and up and at ‘em around 8 in the morning. She doesn’t love rest time, but doesn’t hate it. Yesterday, I told her she could read a book, talk, sing, but could not leave her bed. After about 10 minutes when I checked on her she said, “momma, I’m done singin’ and readin’ books in my bed.” Ha! Nope, 20 more minutes. I bought her a kitchen timer today so she can see the time tick down.
We made a trip to the park the other day, which she loves!
Just minutes after I made her new no napping ways Facebook official {ha!} she strapped herself in her sister’s bouncy seat and attempted to walk around the house. She crashed and burned within seconds… {I may have considered leaving her like this for a little “momma rest time”…}
A few funny things she’s said lately:
*Up down side {instead of upside down} Ha!
*Momma, stop talkin’ for I can hear this! {watching Caillou on my phone in the car}
Never too young for chores…
I braided her Rapunzel doll’s hair so she decided she wanted her hair braided, too. She looked so adorable! She touched it and talked about it all day.
She also told me that she doesn’t want anymore haircuts because she wants long hair.
And now for the squirrely girl’s sister…. This poor gal gets smothered by her sis on a regular basis. In fact, the other day big sister picked her up while she was napping. {For the millionth time, might I add.} Rams gets in so much trouble, but goodness it seems like every time I blink she’s hoisting her up. I guess Brady will be one tough girl {and cute as a button, too!}….
With heavy hearts we have decided not to put up our redneck pool. My friend’s 18 month old niece, Kyndall, drowned last night in their pool. With Ramsey capable of opening doors, climbing to unimaginable heights, and having no fear whatsoever, a pool in the backyard just doesn’t seem safe for us this summer. I’m praying for this sweet family….. I can’t imagine their pain.
